Arviat, Nunavut

“northern lights, very common up here and right in our own backyard”

This was sent from Aida again.. from North of 61.  This is where she lived right now.  When ppl say i’m spunky.. because i’m in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.. i tell them there is someone even spunkier than I and she lives in Nunavut… the land of eskimos.    Why i think Aida is spunkier.. it’s because Aida is from Malaysia.. and for those who are not aware of this.. Malaysia.. is a hot, hot country.  This must be a 360 degree change for Aida.. but she never once B.I.T.C.H about it.  She just took in all her new experience in stride.  I salute Aida.

“view of town in winter from airplane..literally in the middle of nowhere

See what i mean.. when i said .. Aida is spunkier..!! look at all the white..!!!!

“how babies are carried in the north”

“long and extremely cold winter, this was taken after a blizzard”

These were sent by Aida from Footprints from the North of 61 , now Aida is a very special woman.  Why ..??  Well.. actually all women who chooses to leave home.. and uproot in the name of love.. i admire .. and think they are special.. but for Aida.. she lives in Nunavut, now if you know where Nunavut is.. you’ll know how cold it is up there.  I complained so much that Yarmouth, Nova Scotia is cold.. Nunavut must be like 100 times colder.  But boy..! this woman is not only spunky.. but resourceful..  and also very good with her hands and most importantly very adventurous..!!

Here are some of corner brook, newfoundland where she lived for 1.5 years.

Aida said..  ” water can be taken from roadside pipe and drink its from natural spring water “

Yarmouth, Nova Scotia

Well.. i guessed i should start first.. introducing the little town I am in and called home some 8 yrs ago. Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.. is a very small town.. with a population of about 8,000.  Although, it is not considered stone age here.. for we do have high speed internet and Wi-Fi .. there are things that can be changed with the times.  Of course, we don’t have very many good restaurants here.. and that’s my biggest peeve.

This is a pretty small community and since we owned our own business for the last 9 yrs.. you can say we know just about everyone in town.. or those that we donch probably knows us too.  The folks here are mostly simple and down to earth people but if you are visiting Nova Scotia .. you probably prefer Halifax.. the city instead.  For whale watching.. fishing .. and clamming or even lighhouses tours .. then Yarmouth would be a great place to be.

Yarmouth is one of the gateway into Canada.  From Maine..  you are only a boat ride away.. on the CAT about 5.5 - 6hrs.  Or Scotia Prince that is a wee bit longer but folks from the States said.. they prefer Scotia Prince to the CAT for it is less choppy.
